Expressive arts therapy is used with art, music, dance and various other art forms to bring out feelings from the person. This encourages self discovery and emotional healing. It's a two part process with the creativity of the art, and the meaning behind what is created. Expressive or Creative Arts Therapy is a natural form of communication, with the assumption that visual, and images are symbols that are most accessible. They are encouraged to create and bring out their feelings through self expression; feelings that they are unable to talk about. After the art work is completed it is talked about with the therapist.
